Interior Architecture of Multimedia Library, Mediatheque, Sendai 2002

The Sendai Mediatheque is a media and cultural centre in northern Japan designed by Toyo Ito Architects and known for its revolutionary engineering and transparent aesthetic.

Lovegrove Studio was commissioned to design a multimedia library, based on the sixth floor of the iconic building. The design concept was an abstract idea of the garden of knowledge with green and white furniture housing the complete collection of audio-visual library materials and cinema.
